JOE SATRIANI one of the biggest guitar man of our actuality who is an obliged presence in every rock festival all over the world, has started in Portugal a few days ago the presentation of his new album "Professor Satchafunkilus and the musterion of rock".

He has given two concerts on the two best Portuguese playhouses – on the 31st of April at the Coliseum of Recreios in Lisbon and on 1st of May at the Coliseum of Oporto - where have already performed some of the best musicians of our time.

NEXT's Install staff has designed the sound system for the production, taking into account the acoustics differences between the several zones in the theatre. The audio system used was the NEXT LA12 Line-Array system for its high performance power output and fidelity. Working with this system gives me great flexibility and coverage capacity.

Inside the vast theatre, the left and right arrays of the NEXT LA12 Line-Array have been flown above the stage. Each contained eight NEXT LA12 cabinets, which provide even coverage to the furthest seat in the back row of the balcony. Combined with the NEXT LA12 cabinets there were eight Las218 subs on the ground.

At the heart of the Coliseum audio installation is the NEXT LMS240i , a fully programmable DSP (digital signal processor) engine with an extensive array of audio processing devices available. The platform connects directly to the venue’s digital audio mixing consoles and controls the bank of NEXT’s MA Series  amplifiers.

The systems engineers from Coliseum found that, without exception, the engineers who came in to mix the bands, were pleased to be working with NEXT LA12.

On these concerts the portuguese trade mark of professional sound NEXT-proaudio ensured the success of the powerful, clear and well balanced sound that remains in the memory of Joe Satriani's fans.
